Think of it as Green Acres meets Top Chef meets West Wing.
The Colorado Agriculture Council has once again teamed up with the American Culinary Federation Colorado Chefs Association to celebrate Colorado Agriculture Day at the state Capitol on Tuesday.
The result is expected to produce mouth-watering food; last year regulars at the Capitol swooned as they described the lamb tacos, strip steak on pesto mash and bison short ribs.
The event at the Capitol includes a news conference with Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia, Ag secretary John Salazar, Sen. Gail Schwartz and Reps. Randy Fischer and Jerry Sonnenberg. The Colorado Agriculture Council will present a check to Food Bank of the Rockies.
And then Colorado chefs, farmers/ranchers and legislators will partner together in groups of three and compete in the second Colorado Farm to Fork cook competition that is expected to have those who work under the Gold Dome salivating all over again.
