Another wild day at the state Capitol, in part because Senate Republicans have been debating an energy bill for hours. Lawmakers on Friday usually head home in the early afternoon.
Here’s some of what happened:
Home School Day: “What a blessing to see so many future patriots to refresh the tree of liberty,” wrote Rep. Lori Saine, R-Dacono.
Another budget battle: The House blew up, again, over the budget. The Associated Press.
College Friday: Lawmakers wore their school colors as part of College in Colorado, as well as honoring Metro’s basketball team, which might account for this tweet I received: “Did you know that the Metro mascot is running around in costume trying to find his street clothes?”
Energy: A bill to bolster Colorado’s renewable energy standard by requiring an increase in renewable power for rural electric cooperatives was labeled an assault on rural Colorado by Republicans, who debated Senate Bill 252 for hours on Friday. The Denver Post.
