Senate debate on renewable energy goes into the night

Sen. , D-Denver, tries to keep his 16-month-old daughter Avalon occupied during a marathon debate on an energy bill.

Another wild day at the state Capitol, in part because Senate have been debating an energy bill for hours. Lawmakers on Friday usually head home in the early afternoon.

Here’s some of what happened:

Energy: A bill to bolster ’s renewable energy standard by requiring an increase in renewable power for rural electric cooperatives was labeled an assault on rural by Republicans, who debated for hours on Friday. The Denver Post.
